Review of the Essay The Writer in Me by Rima Etzioni
Review of the Essay 'The Writer in Me' by Rima Etzioni'Is the Writer in Me? The Mysteries of the Emotional Life' by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche is a wonderful and informative book that examines and touches on many of the deepest issues in our life and being. It does so from the perspective of a spiritual teacher with a background in Tibetan Buddhism, bringing the insights of the tantric art to a new world of Western audiences.Thomas isn't 'The Writer in Me' as she's quite good looking and gorgeous. She's 'Trungpa' - her real name, because he assumed she would be married and hadn't asked for a bit of privacy. Their relationship is one of open dialogue and sharing of wisdom from their understanding of the universe, their own unique way of being and the actions they take to transform and live.Trungpa teaches Thomas to be very aware of what's going on around her. But in the first part of the book she doesn't exactly get to grips with what's going on with her husband, either. In fact, she ap pears to have had the same interest in his sexuality as she did in her own, for a very long time. But, she expresses it in a very different language, one he may not understand.Trungpa has been introduced to the tantra teachings of his students and then left alone to ponder some more. For him, it is an invitation to deepen his knowledge and experience of what is taking place in his mind and body and of his ultimate goal.As an example, Thomas discovers that yoga posture may well have developed with the focus of balancing out his feminine and masculine energies. She also becomes very aware of her high emotional sensitivity and the ways in which she has been mistreated through relationships. And she learns about her sexual nature and how to consciously express it, in a way that will be both desired and respected by others. She also learns to be accepting of her body and will learn the art of letting go.While she has been a frequent visitor to see her guru, 'The Writer in Me' describes t he depth of her connection with him and how the process of being with him has helped Thomas to change and grow as a person. She sees the way that he sees her, learns to communicate with him and knows her unique way. Her inner intelligence is developed as she integrates the spiritual side of her being with her personal life and finding meaningful relationships. The book of the trungpa focuses on his teachings and examples of living a rich and meaningful life with great health and vitality. He reminds her of the vitality she has already discovered and takes her on a journey of self-exploration, self-discovery and empowerment. He exposes her to many important lessons and teaches her to know herself and others more fully. The essay 'The Writer in Me' by Rima Etzioni has many lessons for us all. It helps us come to terms with our intuition and awareness and understand how our intuition may not express itself. It brings us face to face with the spiritual world and shows us how we can benefi t from making connections with those who share our values and principles.
